The aim of the MyQuestionsMatter web site is to help you, as a user of the health service (a patient), to ask the right questions in your dealings with healthcare professionals, for example, GPs, dentists, consultants, and so on.
By recommending relevant questions for you to ask during an appointment or visit, MyQuestionsMatter can help you to get the treatment you need and the service you expect.
You can use the MyQuestionsMatter service as a non-registered visitor to the website, or as a registered member.
Using the service as a non-registered visitor enables you to generate a list of up to 10 questions for a selected diagnosis. Membership enables you to generate a more 'personalised', unlimited number of questions, based on your age, gender, who the appointment is with, and so on.
To get the most out of the service, we would recommend becoming a member. To do this:
As a member of the web site you can set up a case and one or more appointments (within a case). You can have up to 10 cases and 999 appointments.
A case contains information about you, for example, your age, gender, and whether or not you have a confirmed diagnosis for your ailment.
An appointment contains information about a visit to a health professional, for example, an appointment to see your GP at his/her surgery next week.
When you have set up a case and an appointment, the web site generates a set of questions for you to ask when you see the health professional. These questions are based on the information you selected/entered when setting up the case and appointment. Therefore, if you had one case and two appointments, you could have a situation similar to that shown below.
