Laparoscopy

A laparoscopy enables a surgeon or gynaecologist to directly view organs in the abdomen and pelvis.

The procedure works by pumping carbon dioxide gas through a channel in the laparoscope directly into the abdomen, which creates a space within which a surgeon can view or operate on organs.
