After an AppointmentReview what you discussed at the visitTry and take some time reflecting on what you learned at the visit. Review any notes you made and discuss things with your friend or family member if you invited someone along. Were you satisfied with the consultation? Have you got enough information? Do you know what is going to happen next? Note down what you learnedIt is unlikely that you will have had every question answered during the consultation and it can be helpful to make a list of what you now know and what you are still unsure of. Decide whether you want any additional informationYou may be satisfied with the amount of information you now have, but if you are not you will need to decide specifically what else you would like to know. You should be able to contact the person again with any further questions, and there are numerous other sources of information available. Your pharmacist can be very useful to discuss any queries you have regarding your medication. The Internet is becoming increasingly popular as a source of health information for patients. Use the search bar at the top of this web page to find more information about your disease or illness. Do what you canYou may have been advised that there are some things that you can do to help. Try and act upon the advice given to you at the visit. Some things are easier to build into your routine than others, but health care professionals are people too and are likely to respond positively to someone who takes account of their advice. If you find anything you have been asked to do problematic, let the person know, because there may be an alternative.
